Life, Love, and Birthdays

With my birthday approaching in just 4 short days, I have taken a step back to look at my life and where I was a year ago. To really take the time to be grateful and fathom how truly blessed I am.
This has been such a lively fun filled year, I have learned so much about life and love. Life for the simple fact that my friends and I are balling at adulthood. Who knew just a year ago when we were leaving behind our Alma Mater, that one of us would be a successful writer in New York City, another one of us would be working in home healthcare for a very successful family whose compassion has extended far beyond expectation, and that one of us would own our own business and be starting a family.
Life is full of surprises, it's actually funny... things that you were so worried about and consumed with a year ago may not even mean anything now.
I have learned so much about love this year too. When I learned I was going to be a mom, at first I cried and panicked and of course, called my mom. In that moment when I needed it most, she let me know how loved and supported I was and would be through this.
So, I have felt the love of my family, I have also felt the love of my partner. It wasn't easy though, in the beginning we had several hard conversations. At times, I don't think I have ever prayed so hard in my life. I prayed for God to give me an answer of where I would be in the future because I felt so lost and alone in that moment. But, through prayer, love, and tons of support I fear no more. I know that I am exactly where I need to be in my life and my boyfriend and I have so much love to give to our sweet little girl.
This year, for this birthday, I am so excited to share it with friends and family who have been there every step of the way. I am excited to spend this day with people who I will know and who I will love forever. That is the greatest birthday gift of them all!
